    Pendarves Equestrian Centre – Horse Riders’ Code of Conduct:

    • I understand that riding at any standard has inherent risk and that all horses may react unpredictably on occasions
    • I may fall off and could be injured. I accept that risk
    • I understand that instructions are given for my safety and agree to follow instructions given to me by the owners and staff of Pendarves Equestrian Centre
    • I understand that wearing an appropriate riding hat and body protector may reduce the severity of an injury should an accident happen and agree that I will always wear a riding hat whilst riding, leading and grooming horses at Pendarves Equestrian Centre. I understand it is my choice whether or not I wear a body protector.
    • I understand that children are at particular risk around horses and agree that I will keep children that I am responsible for, under close supervision.
    • I understand that competing carries enhanced risk over and above general riding and agree that if I choose to participate in any competition or event, it is up to me to ensure that I have the experience and ability to ride the course including any jumps which form part of it. If I am in any doubt, I will use my judgment and experience and not enter

    Troon Show Committee Rules & Regulations

     

     Any animal or competitor found by the Committee to be behaving inappropriately will be asked to leave the showground immediately.

     Although the Committee will make every effort to avoid class clashes due to the number of classes being held clashes may be unavoidable.  In that event competitors will be expected to choose which class they wish to enter.   No refunds will be given but we will, where possible, change entries to another class of your choice.

     The judges’ decision is final.  

     Any complaint must be made in writing to the Secretary, Mrs S Pascoe accompanied by a cheque for £50.   Complaints will be investigated in full within 20 working days. 

     All competitors will park where specified by the parking attendants on the day.  Failure to comply with the attendants’ instructions may result in disqualification from the show.

     Stallions may not be shown in hand by any junior who has not attained their 16th birthday before 1st January in the current year.

    v  Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats that meet one of the following current Safety Standards/specifications MUST be worn by all Riders of all ages. All PAS 015; VG1; (BS)EN1384 2017; ASTM F1163 04a onwards; SNELL E2001; SNELL E2016; AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards.

    v  The most recent updates to the list are the addition of SNELL E2016 and EN1384 (2017); the newest version of the SNELL Standard could have begun to appear in 2017 and is accepted to the list; the newest version of the EN1384 Standard will begin to appear during 2018 and is also accepted to the list.

     All ridden ponies must be 4 years old and over.

     Any foals being shown must be a minimum of three weeks old on the day of the show.

     Unaccompanied Competitors must provide the Show Organiser a contact telephone number in case of an emergency.                

                Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and dogs MUST be cleaned up after and disposed of correctly

    No ring will wait longer than 5 minutes for any competitor unless agreed previously with the ring steward

    General Rules

    Riders must be correctly dressed; tack must be safe to use and adhere to the Pony Club rules regarding equipment allowed for show jumping. All competitors to report to the collecting ring (lower field; gate from lorry park) for a tack inspection.

    The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry without stating a reason and also to eliminate any competitor who in their opinion places themselves or others in danger or fails to observe the rules.

     

    PC Team Show Jumping rules

    Teams to be of 3 or 4 riders and the best 3 scores will count.

    • LEAD REIN RIDERS - must remain on the lead rein at all times whilst in the ring including entering and leaving the ring and whilst warming up. Any breach will incur a 10-point penalty.

    • ASSISTED RIDERS - One adult is allowed to assist in the ring whilst the competitor jumps his/her round. PLEASE NOTE - No contact to be made with rider or pony whilst in the ring including entering and leaving the ring. Any breach will incur a 10-point penalty.

    • One competitor may ride no more than two horses/ponies in the same team, each horse/pony may only compete once in the class. Ponies to be 5 years and over.

     

    Mini Championship Rules (excluding Open Classes)

    The top 2 Pony Club teams and top 3 individual Pony Club members at each competition of the following levels: 40cm Lead Rein, 40cm Assisted, 40cm Open, 50cm, 60cm and 70cm will qualify for the Mini Championships which will be held on 24-45 August 2022 at Bicton Arena

    If the winning team has already qualified, the qualification may drop down one place – so only to the 2nd team.

    The top three individual qualifiers are only the top three people, it does not drop down

    Each team at the Championships must include two out of the original four horse/rider combinations.

    Entries are allowed from individuals or teams; team competitors will be individuals as well.

    A combination may not compete in both class 1, 2 & 3

    Any combination of horse and rider may not compete where the height is 30cm lower than that at which they have previously competed. Riders who have competed at Regional Show Jumping or Eventing competitions are not eligible for the Mini Championships. If you competed at the Pony Club Grassroots competition you may not enter the Mini Championships.

     

    Entries are accepted and admission granted only subject to the following conditions, and it is a condition of entry that these have been accepted by each competitor.

    • Neither the Western Branch of the PC, Pendarves Equestrian Centre nor any judge or any steward, officer or servant shall be liable for anything that may happen from any cause or circumstances whosoever to any person, animal, article or property.

     

    • It is a condition of entry that each competitor shall indemnify the above mentioned against such matters aforesaid.

     

    • All classes will be run in accordance with Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2022 and the judges’ decision will be final. You can view the rules at https://pcuk.org/officials/rulebooks/

    Competitors – please bring your own number bibs and print off your numbers to bring with you

     

    • The organisers have taken every precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all officials and stewards.

     

    • Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the Landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents or accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

     

    • The Judge’s decision is final, and any objections must be accompanied by £25 deposit which will be returned if upheld, no later than 20 minutes after the incident has happened.

     

    • No Horses or ponies may be ridden other than by the competitor on the day of the competition.

     

    • No horse or pony may be ridden in more than 2 classes.

     

    • No horses/ponies are to be left unattended when tied to the lorry/trailer.

     

    • HORSES - a) No horse under 5 years of age is eligible. A horse or pony shall be deemed to reach the age of 1 on 1st January following the date on which it is foaled and shall be deemed to become a year older on each successive 1st January. b) There is no height limit. c) Stallions can only be ridden by Members if they have obtained written permission from their District Commissioner and in the interests of safety, must wear identifying discs on their bridle.

    • VACCINATIONS - A valid passport and vaccination record: must accompany the horse/pony to all events. It must be available for inspection by the event officials. It must be produced on request at any other time during the event. All ponies/horses must be compliant with the current Pony Club minimum vaccination requirements

    • All dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times.

    • All droppings to be picked up and taken home.

    • Ages for riders as at date of the competition. Unless specified otherwise in the schedule, all Members are eligible to compete in any Pony Club Team or Individual Show Jumping competitions. See rule 29 for Eligibility to compete at Area Competitions and The Championships

    • Times will be issued for each competitor and must be adhered to.

    • Classes will be run as SINGLE PHASE and the second half will be timed. All competitors may jump the second half unless they have been eliminated.

    All horses/ponies can be shown in a snaffle bridle.
